It’s summertime and we’re all able to appreciate the warm weather. It’s time to venture out to enjoy the sun of summer. One of my favorite warm-weather past times is gardening.

The joy of gardening can unfold into an experience that allows you to beautify the area while clearing the clutter, add features that will improve the flow of chi to the home and bless the land by giving of yourself to its layout, contents and overall energy.

Feng Shui expert Carole Hyder shares about improving the energy flow in the garden in her story, “Urn-ing Feng Shui Balance.”

We’ve had AC/DC telling us you she “Shook Me All Night Long,” Color Me Badd “Sex You Up” ’til the sun goes down, and in yet another generation, T.I. explains his sexual prowess in “All Night Long.”

Although the idea of having sex all through the night seems to be the general consensus of song writers as the ideal, it turns out Boyz II Men had a better explanation when singing: “I’ll make love 2 you like you want me to/And I’ll hold you tight, baby, all through the night.”

There’s less of the love making and more of the cuddling going on in the real world. A recent study showed that couples generally have sex for 3 to 13 minutes, with anything over 10 minutes thought to be tiresome. What happened to all night long?

Katherine Faulkner explains the new study in her article Perfect 10 minutes: Survey of men and women reveals the length of an ideal sexual experience.

When looking to expand your family, it is important to concentrate on activating the West Corner; especially in the bedroom.

Placing objects that will increase the flow of positive chi in this corner will strengthen the family and increase the likelihood of conceiving. Those who are experiencing trouble conceiving without physical cause can activate the West to help bring a child into their life. To do so, utilize a screen, painting, crystal sphere, images of pomegranates, or an elephant image.

Today we’ll take a look at more feng shui conception tips from The Baby Corner, as well as look at the ancient ways used to pick the sex of your baby, as explained at Absolutely Feng Shui.

There are a lot of things that people would want to change in their lives; aspects that we may want to amend, or in Feng Shui terms, cure. Each of these facets uses different symbols to attract positive energy flow.

Feng Shui symbols don’t necessarily need to be conventional Chinese illustrations or images. In the modern days, people use similar representations other than traditional Chinese figurines or symbols. As long as the symbols used attract a certain energy that allows good emotional response, they can be used in the process.

The use of symbols is discussed in the article Feng Shui Symbols on A to Z Feng Shui. Use of both traditional and sentimental symbols will allow anyone to use feng shui — even those on a budget.

The warmer summertime months is the perfect time to diffuse and blend with light, energizing, herbaceous, floral, and cooling essential oils. Oils from the mint, citrus and floral families are especially nice during summer.

Aromatherapy is a great way to affect the chi in the room, as your body will react to the smells around you making positive chi increase. It is a wonderful way to relax, restore or energize the body and is good for your overall health and well-being.

The following video was shared on Sandiego Feng Shui Blog and shows a great diffuser that can be used to spread the scent of essential oils in your home:

It’s been my experience that the general public believes feng shui is a religion unto its own. Although there are links between feng shui, Taoism and Buddhism, feng shui itself is not a religion.

Instead, it is a set of principles derived from an ancient art form enriched by mysticism and the belief in the yin and yang in life. These opposing forces can be looked upon by laymen as good and evil, light and dark, earth and sky or any other complimentary concepts, but it is the belief that two halves make a whole and that one cannot exist without the other.

Blue Mountain Feng Shui elaborates on the question of whether or not feng shui can be viewed as a religious belief in it’s current blog entry, “Feng Shui and Religion.”

In the article, questions are answered as to what specific religious ties feng shui holds with major religions, as well as a personal anecdote of his experiences with Taoist and Buddhist temples.
